Simon joins us as a Chartered Financial Planner and Fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

He’s highly experienced in advising a wide range of clients including partners of legal and accountancy firms, company executives, politicians, civil servants and people in the world of sports and media.

Building long-term relationships with his clients is central to Simon, and he takes time to really get to know them. Equally key is giving clients clarity and structure around their finances.

“I’m so pleased Simon has decided to join Magus. He is the perfect fit for us – his clients are central to him and he has a number of life- long client relationships, which I think says an awful lot about a Financial Planner. He brings an absolute wealth of experience and new ideas with him and I’m looking forward to working with him over the coming months and years.”
– Michael Aitken, Chairman, Magus Private Wealth

It was more of a week for us at Magus than a morning and if cake eating were a sport, we’d definitely be in with chance of going to Tokyo in 2020…

We could also enter a team for the competitive baking event too – every day during the last week of September, a new selection of goodies turned up in the office, including homemade spiced apple cake, rocky roads, (plus a ‘healthy version’) cheese scones, ginger biscuits, chocolate brownies, sausage rolls, plus an ongoing supply of kindly donated shop bought goodies too.

In true Magus style, we came together as a team – and after weeks of training we managed to munch our way through a small mountain of treats and in the meantime raise just under £350 for MacMillan cancer support – with the aim of helping people living with cancer live life as fully as they can.

Thank you to everyone for joining in – from baking, eating and donating.

If you’d like to donate go to: https://www.macmillan.org.uk/donate – however large or small your donation makes a difference.

A very warm welcome to James, who joins the business as a Client Support Assistant. Recently graduated from Roehampton University, James has a Business Management degree.

When he’s not in the office James loves being outdoors hiking and camping.

As a business we are entering some exciting times as we continue to grow and evolve. As part of this, it felt like the right time for us to look for a new office space in London.

We’re delighted to be moving into our new office at Octagon Point, 5 Cheapside, St Pauls EC2V 6AA on Monday 30 July. Some of our clients will get to see the new office when they meet with their Financial Planner at their next progress meeting.

Our head office remains in West Sussex and you can still get in touch with us in the usual way.

Matt Horder completes the Dallaglio Cycle Slam as a core rider

After cycling through 5 countries (France, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia and Croatia) covering 1,587km and 27,578m of climbing, Matt completed the Dallaglio Cycle Slam in support of the Dallaglio RugbyWorks Charity.

The Charity helps deliver the skills programme across the UK for teenagers between 14-17 years old who have been excluded from mainstream education, with the aim of getting them back into sustained education, employment or training.

Matt took part in the event as a core rider, and was lucky enough to take in the stunning mountains of France and Switzerland, the beautiful lakes of Italy, and a journey back in time through Slovenia and the heat and history of civil war through Croatia. With Matt raising just over £18,000 he made a very healthy contribution to the £1m raised overall.

On a personal note, Matt has passionately supported this charity, that is close to his heart, for a number of years and this is the 4th event Matt has taken part in. His aim is to make a positive contribution in helping young people back into education, training and employment, whilst meeting new people, see new parts of the world and get even fitter in the process - which we can safely say he has delivered on all parts!

Everyone at Magus has loved Matt’s emails, which have kept us updated along the way - the highs, the lows and the challenges, of what can only be described as an amazing adventure, that is definitely not for the faint hearted.

Find out more about Dallaglio RugbyWorks here, or more about the event here.
