Mike is the Chairman of Magus Private Wealth and a Financial Planner. He founded Magus in 1998, having worked within the financial services sector since 1991. Mike co-built Magus on the premise that people wanted and deserved to be advised transparently and from the heart – ‘putting the client first’ remains a core tenet of the business.
Mike now works with Magus’ wealthiest families, senior executives and business owners across every aspect of their financial world. He is particularly involved in multi-generation transfer of family wealth, and as part of his work with families, he is a qualified practitioner in Interpersonal Leadership and Communications.
He is also a practicing Financial Life Planner and become a master in this field in 2013.
Mike loves working with clients to help them cut through seemingly complex problems to bring them simplicity and calmness. He is passionate to see that Magus' clients receive the very best advice and service, and that they enjoy their financial journey along the way. There is always laughter in Mike’s meetings, as he believes:
“You just can’t take life too seriously. We have to make the most of it - and money should be an enabler not a handbrake”.
Mike is incredibly proud of the Magus team and really enjoys helping to build the professional skills of the adviser and support teams:
“I’m hugely lucky to have the incredibly capable Magus team to support me and allow me to not just do my job, but to love what I do”.
Mike is married with three boys and one daughter. He is the reluctant owner of a mini zoo: 3 horses, 2 dogs, 3 rabbits, 2 cats and 4 chickens. He has a passion for playing the saxophone, walking his dogs in the West Sussex countryside and adventurous travelling. He also makes an excellent ugly sister in the annual village panto.
